Member of Kenya NGO Board of Directors, Madam Aysha Sheik Abdi, visited Action for the Needy in Ethiopia (ANE) from 18th to 23rd of May ,2023. Madam Aysha Sheik Abdi (center) and her team member were welcomed by the Managing Director, Mr. Salihu Sultan, and other senior Management team at ANE’s Head Quarters in Addis Ababa. During the occasion Madam Aysha and her team member were briefed on the systems, geographical coverage, the staff number and professional mix and service track records of ANE in the last eleven years. In the next three days the team visited one of ANE's Branch Offices located 760 km from the capital in the Gambella Regional State., where she had an opportunity to see various refugee camps.
After having seen the field level activities Madam Aysha described the works of ANE as “incredible job”. In her words, “the name “Action for the Needy” really suits the organization.” She said that she was able to observe the satisfaction of the refugees with ANE’s services from the warm welcome they gave to her and the other ANE Team. She hoped-for ANE, now working in cross Border areas, would do similar works in the areas of health, water and education for the refugee communities in Kenya as well. She recommended that ANE should work more on visibility so that outsiders would know the good work and gain knowledge and experience from its refugee services.
